Frogs are commonly used as an animal model in developmental biology research due to their rapid embryonic development and ease of manipulation. They have been particularly useful in studying vertebrate development, including limb formation and neural development. In addition, some frog species have been used to study the effects of environmental pollutants on development and reproduction.
