The pancreas is a glandular organ located in the abdomen that plays a crucial role in digestion and glucose metabolism. It produces and secretes digestive enzymes and hormones such as insulin and glucagon. Tissue sections of the pancreas are needed for research to investigate the structure and function of pancreatic cells and to study various diseases, such as pancreatic cancer and diabetes, at the cellular and molecular level. These tissue sections can be examined under a microscope to identify any changes or abnormalities in the pancreas that could be associated with the disease.
