The spleen is an important organ in the immune system, responsible for filtering blood and removing old or damaged red blood cells. It also plays a role in fighting infections and producing antibodies. Tissue sections of the spleen are needed for research to better understand its structure and function, as well as to study diseases that affect the organ, such as spleen tumors or autoimmune disorders.
