Affordable, Workhorse Rotary Microtome

We have used Compresstome tissue slicers for a number of years to generate lung slices (PCLS). Customer service has always been excellent and the team are very responsive. We have recently begun using the VF-510-0Z machine and it is generating high quality PCLS.

The Compresstome® VF-300-0Z has been an indispensable tool in our PKDERM lab for preparing high-quality human precision-cut lung slices (hPCLS).

Its versatility and rapid sectioning capabilities have enabled us to efficiently generate these valuable samples for our lung research studies. We have consistently achieved excellent section thickness and quality, allowing us to conduct detailed analyses of lung physiology and pathology and to obtain reliable results from our experiments.

We use brainstem slices of rats, which are particularly delicate and difficult to obtain. We were surprised by the performance of the vibratome, as it produces healthy brain slices comparable to much more expensive vibratomes. I also like the simplicity of the design of the vibratome.
