The Tumor Sectioning Kit is designed to facilitate the preparation of live tumor tissue slices for ex vivo cancer research, including studies of drug response, immuno-oncology, and tumor microenvironment biology. Tumor tissues are often heterogeneous, soft, and vascular — requiring stable oxygenation, gentle chilling, and precise handling to preserve viability and morphology. This kit provides all the essential tools to maintain physiologic conditions during sectioning while ensuring sterility and reproducibility. Key features and scientific justifications:
  • The oxygenation attachment maintains oxygen-rich buffer conditions critical for sustaining live tumor metabolism and viability during slicing.
  • The double-wall buffer tray keeps tissues evenly chilled, minimizing thermal and enzymatic degradation.
  • The autoclavable stainless-steel buffer tray allows sterile slicing for downstream molecular assays or culture.
  • Ceramic blades ensure smooth, vibration-free sectioning that preserves delicate tumor–stroma interfaces.
  • Sticky spacers stabilize irregular tumor masses within the specimen tube, reducing movement and distortion.
  • Fine brushes and forceps allow careful manipulation of soft tumor slices without mechanical trauma.
  • The magnifying LED assembly provides high-resolution visualization for accurate positioning and even cutting planes.
