Bronwyn Berkeley is a final year PhD student at The Queen’s Medical Research Institute at The University of Edinburgh in the Mairi Brittan Group. Her research focuses on cardiac lymphangiogenesis and neovascularisation after myocardial infarction. Her scientific interests involve understanding the basic science behind tissue repair and pathology after myocardial infarction in order to identify options for future therapies which prevent progression to heart failure.

In this webinar, Bronwyn Berkeley will:

  • Detail a method for visualizing cardiac vasculature by immunostaining using the Compresstome vibratome.
  • Discuss the role of the lymphatic and blood vascular responses to myocardial infarction.
  • Explore how modulation of these responses may improve patient outcomes post-ischemic injury.
